Hi, I’m Lucinda Iglesias and the owner of Mont Tricot. I’m originally from New Orleans and in 2010, after 15 years in Vancouver, BC, I moved to Sutton, QC with my husband, Gilles Barbeau and my dog, Chulita. Gilles, the ultra-marathon runner, is often lending a helping hand at Mont Tricot on weekends - as long as he can get a long run in first, of course.
It has always been my dream to open a yarn store. From an early age, I loved anything having to do with yarn. As a child, my grandmother and aunt taught me to crochet. I would spend endless hours inventing stitches and designs.
Later, when my sister was pregnant with her first child, I decided to take up knitting. Mostly self-taught, I learned lots through trial and error: sweater necks were either too large or too small. I come a long way since those early days. Now, I am eager to share my love of all things yarn-related with you. So, come knit with me!
